| New writing Writing groups & courses We are launching So You Want To Be A Writer? 2008 aimed at writers of any age with little or no experience of formal training or production. Consisting of a series of five workshops where writers are encouraged to explore and develop their talent So You Want To Be A Writer? will be mentored for the sixth year running by Leeds-born playwright Mark Catley, writer of Sunbeam Terrace, Crap Dad, Scuffer at the Playhouse, Eastenders and Casualty for BBC. Writers developed through SYWTBAW? who have gone on to be produced as part of the Northern Exposure Season in previous years include: Jodie Marshall (Non-Contact Time, Tender Dearly), Eamon Rooney (Gluey and the Lion) and Alice Nutter (Foxes). In order to apply please submit a 1A4 page telling us about yourself, why you want to write and why you want to join. Applicants should ensure that they are available evenings 7-9pm on the following dates: Monday 28 April Deadline for applications is 14 March 2008.
