| New writing Development Grants Writers are selected to receive a development grant from scriptreading, courses or other programmes. The development grant will be granted to develop an idea or an early draft to the next stage. These development grants are between £500 and £1500 depending on the amount of work necessary. If we like the resulting script we may offer you a further development grant to take it to the next stage. Tom Dalton Bidwell has been given a development grant to write his new play, Company Along The Mile. Tom is a new writer who graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2005. His first play, The Sunday Times:NSDF award winning Risky & Fluke, recently finished a tour of Europe and his second play, Rumour and the Rope Trick, premiered at the Stephen Joseph theatre in Autumn last year.
