Creative Education Week

Once a month the Creative Education team run a Creative Education Week when schools are invited to bring a group of children to the Playhouse for a half-day session of themed creative activities.

Activities are linked to the National Curriculum and each week is preceded by an INSET workshop to support teachers’ work with their children.

Sessions are carefully designed to move children steadily through a series of activities, each with tangible outcomes, ensuring that every child can engage in his or her own way.

Previous sessions have included Making and Using Puppets (Early Years KS1 and special) Dancing Stories(KS2) Creative Citizens (KS2) and Playing with Creative Drama (Nursery and Foundation Stage)

Your Feedback

Inset Schedule to JANUARY 2009

All INSET workshops take place at West Yorkshire Playhouse from 4pm - 5pm and cost £17. To request a booking form contact Lisa Parrott on 0113 213 7290 or lisa.parrott@wyp.org.uk

Feedback
“I feel I must write to let you know how much we appreciate the links we have had with Arts Development this term… Every child in the school has taken part in one of you workshop sessions (Dressing Up, Scriptwriting and The Elves and the Shoemakers), all of whom thoroughly enjoyed their visit, and their enthusiasm has carried forward into their work back in School.’
